MUSIC DIGITALIZATION AND VIRTUAL PERFORMER: EXPERIMENT OR THE REALITIES OF THE FUTURE
Annotation. The article examines the phenomenon of musical digitalization as a historical, cultural, and technological process transforming the nature of performing arts. Particular attention is paid to the emergence of the virtual performer as a new subject of artistic practice. Based on an analysis of the evolution of algorithmic composition, the development of digital sound processing systems, and the implementation of neural network models for music generation, the study addresses the question of whether the virtual performer should be regarded as an experiment of the technological era or as a stable reality of the artistic future. The paper compares international practices of integrating artificial intelligence into musical creativity and educational processes with the current state of Russian vocal pedagogy. It identifies the aesthetic, institutional, and legal risks associated with digitalization, as well as its potential opportunities for the development of performing arts. The author concludes that a new artistic paradigm is emerging in which humans and algorithms act not as antagonists but as interacting subjects of the creative process.
The widespread use of technologies such as digital sound processing, virtual musical instruments, virtual reality and augmented reality, as well as artificial intelligence, contributes to innovations in the forms of performing arts. Through an analysis of scholarly and professional literature, the article examines the application of digital musical technologies in concert practice and stage performances, their impact on artistic interpretation, and their role in creating an immersive experience for the audience. Particular attention is given to the transformation of vocal performance and to the phenomenon of the virtual performer as a new cultural model.
